Making students the focus

By Jim Judd via Press Democrat
~A scapegoat is “one who bears the blame for others,” according to Merriam-Webster.
~Holding educators responsible for their own productivity or lack of it it is simply common sense.

  1. My mom worked for a school district in Petaluma when the California Lottery was approved promising 1/3 of its proceeds to go to the schools. I remember day after day she came home disgusted with the flat-out demand of the teachers that they be the sole recipients of the dollars. I still do not understand how a higher paid teacher is more productive or effective than a lower paid one? If this were true, then those in positions of power, those highly compensated people running our country would never rest. Budgets would be balanced and reform would occur. This issue with the school is a micro-universe of what is happening collectively to our country.
